Installing Reckon Accounts Enterprise 2018 on Azure AVD

Options

Hi,

I've been having issues with installing Reckon Accounts Enterprise 2018 on an Azure Virtual Desktop running Windows 10 Enterprise.

When running the .msi the installation is immeditly interrupted and shows the “Installtion Interrupted” screen (Please see attached screenshot).

To date I have tried:

  • Safe mode
  • Disabling print spooler
  • Disabling anti virus
  • Selective startup
  • Clean uninstall/install
  • Manual installation of .net 3.5.1 prior to installation
  • Every support article I can find on Reckon's official site or the forums

Any additional information/ help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

This was running on the old on-prem server that the AVD has replaced.

There is Reckon Accounts Premier - Accoutant Edition 2022 currently installed but I have been asked to install the the 2018 version aswell.

Why has someone told you to install the 2018, you just need to restore and upgrade your backup to the latest version.

Using the 2022 version open the sample file to make sure it is working.

    We're just their IT support.

I have managed to get the file that they wanted 2018 for.

It is a .QBB file that is being restored.

It will open in version 2022 but will now show

This is after agreeing to updating the file.

Make sure you are restoring a backup, not trying to open a company.

As mentioned, this error is happening when restoring a .QBB file in Reckon 2022.

Just spoke with Reckon and they also asked if you have another backup or are you still able to access the old data file to verify that there are no errors with it.

I have only been given the .QBB file.

I have gone back to the end user to and asked them to follow the details found here:

and try and recreate the backup file.
