    Do i need to have the STP phase 2 and be using the 2023 system, prior to my first payrun in July (6th July).

    Hi @Sonya Herbert

    Reckon Accounts Hosted 2023 will only support STP Phase 2 pay runs & submissions so the first thing we'd recommend doing is using Migration Assistant to update your employee and payroll item information for STP Phase 2 compliance before your first pay run of the new financial year.

    Please see the FAQ linked below for more info -

    and I can only do that migration in the new 2023, so I'll have to go through the process of doing a back up of old system, and preparing to use 2023, prior to my first payrun in july?

    I suggest you go through your payroll items and if you have any that you don’t use make them inactive. If you have a simple payroll the Migration Assistant is a breeze. Most of the wages types are categorised as SAW.

    backup your file as you suggested, however it will want you to do it again when you launch 2023

    You may as well do your EOFY once you have balanced your payroll, but what I’ve been doing at that stage is uploading the file to GovConnect, but not submitting it until my bank reconciliations have been done for the year

    @Sonya Herbert

    Our recommendation is to complete your last pay runs and End of Financial Year finalisation for the 2022/23 financial year in Reckon Accounts Hosted 2022 then upgrade to the new 2023 edition where you can start the STP Phase 2 Migration Assistant.

    You don't have to, however as mentioned above, and in the FAQ, Reckon Accounts Hosted 2023 will only support STP Phase 2 submissions so once you've upgraded to 2023, any submissions (including the EOFY finalisation) will need to be under STP Phase 2 requirements.
