Not sure what's happening here so will need a bit more info to try and understand.
Does the restore process actually complete and then after doing so the file doesn't allow new data to be added? When you say its read-only, what is actually happening in the file when you try to add new data? Are running into an error?
Have you had a chat with support about this as yet?
