Moving from Enterprise to Hosted

We have been using Enterprise for many years, now looking at moving to Hosted. Our Company file is currently 1.7G and I would be keen to be able to move the whole file to Hosted. First question, is it possible to move all of the data across, and how long would that normally take. Also, is there a extra cost per month for additional users.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Stacey
Your company file from Enterprise will open directly in Hosted as they are the same version albeit Hosted lives in the cloud as opposed to desktop.
If you require additional users to be working concurrently then they will require their own Hosted licence so they have their own individual logins and access.
1.7GB is quite large, do you create regular backups and perform routine maintenance on the file? We've got a few ways in reducing file size along with ensuring you're getting the best performance out of it which might be useful, I'll link a couple of resources below -

Hi Rav,
Thank you for your quick response.
I have recently deleted my TLG file, as I have not been able to successfully do a back-up for quite sometime. I usually copy the company file to external hard-drives, in case needed.
We are keen to keep our entire file, as it goes back quite a few years, and we often have to refer back to the history. So, having said that, is it possible to export our whole file to Hosted?

Hi Stacey
Have you been able to make a backup successfully after deleting your TLG?
If not, are you able to successfully complete a Verify & Rebuild with no errors?
To answer your question about your file opening in Hosted, yes you can restore your file directly in Hosted but before doing so it might be worth just getting it in tip top condition so that you're not running the risk of corruption.

Haven't tried a backup as yet, that will be my next task.
To restore my file in Hosted, does this need to be done via migration with reckon, or can I do this myself?

No you can do it yourself. You simply upload the backup to Hosted B drive and then restore the file to the Q drive

Nope no migration required for a Reckon Accounts Enterprise file. You just need to upload it to Reckon Accounts Hosted's Q drive and then open it like you do any other company file in Reckon Accounts.
Just something to note, Hosted has a few little differences in some areas when compared to its desktop counterpart, specifically in the area of email, print and managing files with Hosted's Q drive.
It might be worth taking Hosted out for a test drive with its free trial period π

Thank's Rav, I appreciate your help. Once it is uploaded, does a copy of the desktop file remain on the computer, in case you need to check that it uploaded correctly?

Hi Kris
As I have been unable to successfully do a back-up for sometime, can I just upload the company file?

Yes the original file will stay in the same place, a copy of it will be will uploaded to Hosted π

Yes definitely Stacey as per @Ravβs comment. And your file does remain on your computer, but itβs always a good idea to have a copy on an external drive as well
