Final pay event showing as not tax ready

I've submitted a final pay event in Reckon GovConnect and it shows that it has been successfully submitted, however when I go into my MyGov account it shows as 'not tax ready'. Any clues how to resolve this issue please?

How long ago did you submit the EOFY? Is this for 1 employee or all,?

    Hi Kris

Thanks for your prompt reply. The final payrun was submitted on 27 June 2023. I am aware of two employees who have the 'not tax ready' message in their MyGov accounts. And one employee who has already processed their tax return so I guess that means theirs was ready, so that's confusing. I would have thought it would affect all or none!

    Hi@Jo Arnold ,

Have you sent any more submissions for the 2022/23 financial year after the end-of-financial-year (EOFY) finalization?

Are you aware of any that have gone through correctly?

I had the same thing and the employer had to ring the ATO. He showed them the details of some that were correct and included the missing one. They couldn’t work it out and told the employee to lodge their tax and the income figures manually -these were provided to employee on a pays report

I did the actual pay run first, then submitted the final event on the same day.

@Kris_Williams I have one employee who has already processed their tax return so I can only assume that one was ok.

Sounds like the same scenario, might be an idea to ring ATO. Were there any major changes to this employee that’s not correct, like name change?

This is a glitch that can sometimes occur - not just with Reckon STP but other STP payroll providers also - & may well be due to an issue on the ATO end.

However, provided you have checked your submitted figures are correct & what the employee's myGov record shows is the same, their tax return can still be lodged using the unfinalised data/figures, either via prefill or entered manually (depending on the tax return lodgment process being used) 😊

I have had quite a few that have been unfinalised & some employees have been advised by their employers that it has been finalised but it just isn't reflecting this at the ATO's end! 😬 In this case, I just include a note with the return.
