Operating payroll in Reckon Hosted for first time

Hello, we have been operating Reckon Hosted for many years and outsourcing our payroll.

Looking at comparing other software for payroll also, but I hadn't realised we already have access to Reckon payroll in hosted, so it makes sense to use it if it suits our needs.

I wanted people's opinions on the payroll software. We have approx 35 staff and are not-for-profit so there's a lot of salary packaging to process. Will Reckon payroll handle this well? It will also be the first time doing our own STP too. Researching ready for possible 1st July changeover.

I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts on this. Thanks.

The payroll functionality within Reckon Accounts Hosted itself is a fully featured, STP Phase 2 compliant payroll engine.

Was there a particular reason you were outsourcing just the payroll as opposed to actioning it within the Hosted software itself?

Thanks Rav - the outsourcing is historic (due to the nature of our business). I've been here 10 months and it makes sense to bring it back in as too much time is spent sorting our errors at the moment. Salary packaging can be quite complex as we also have meals card as well as reportable and novated leases etc. I'm hoping that Reckon can handle or of that for us.

Yes, Reckon Accounts Hosted can definitely manage all of that ☺️

Also manages all Super (SG, SS EA), SS (Super & non-Super including Novated Leases), Allowances, Deductions, Terminations (incl Redundancy), all Leave accruals etc. It has built-in Timesheets you can utilise too & you can also track payroll costs against Jobs &/or Classes.

I have a specific document I’ve written up on configuring for Novated Leases as I have a few clients who have that ☺️

Also is there a way to import information from our third part who I think use Kronus?

Not easily, unless the software has an existing integration with Reckon Accounts Hosted (RAH).

Having said that, there are a few 3rd party providers who create custom tools/programs for specific tasks where the software isn't integration-compatible with RA/RAH & may be able to do this @PhuongDo or Chandra aka @cosmic may be able to help with that - They are both Reckon Developer Partners.
