Have they changed how this is done, as I am unable to Restore anything to Hosted now as per these directions? Honestly I really struggle using Hosted, Desktop was a breeze
Hi @Barbara Allen-Guthrie
Thank you for your query.
To help us better understand the issue you're facing, could you clarify the following:
To provide some background, restoring a backup file in Reckon Hosted is quite similar to the desktop version. The main difference is that, instead of saving your working file on a local drive, you will be saving it to the Q: drive in Reckon Hosted (the cloud).
Let me know and I will assist you in resolving the issue.
Kind regards,
Reeta
Are you working on the desktop and then why are you restoring to hosted.
Yes I am using Enterprises and want to Restore to Hosted for going away.
I will phone Reckon now.
If you follow the instruction that you mentioned it should only take a few minutes.
Desktop save the backup to an easy to find location
in hosted upload to B: drive
restore to Q: drive
Open as usual
Just follow your previous instructions for more detail.
I just rang and someone walked me through it, but can you tell me how to rename a file in Hosted?
Hi @Barbara Allen-Guthrie ,
Good to hear that the restore process has completed.
For renaming the file in hosted platform, please refer to the KB below:
https://help.reckon.com/article/lw2m1ip0i2-how-to-rename-a-data-file-on-the-reckon-accounts-hosted-platform
Hope this helps.
You cant restore a file in hosted without deleting the existing file
Thanks Gerry just FYI this actually did not work smoothly, Reckon had to login and rename, log out, login, rename over and over until the file would open, so was quite difficult :-(
@GerryWinter
The problem occurs because the Hosted file is read only
You either have to delete the existing file or rename it
It should be a simple fix.
Its a pity it hasnt been addressed.
Zappy
Sorry to hear that as long as they sorted you out eventually
Now that the system has been upgraded, these instructions don't work, how do I know Restore my Enterprises file into Hosted?
I needed to use Hosted for several days as NBN was down.
In Hosted go to the new My Files icon and click on Q drive - the upload button is there. Navigate to PC and select the file, upload and then then restore file in the usual way
Thanks Kris just one step I could not get, you are the best
no problem glad you’re on the right track
