Today , looks like i am going to loose a large Reckon Desktop user with multi entities .

They have very complex bills that needs to be apportioned with set conditions of % and then allocated to their many many cost centres , and doing it manually has not been a easy task for bookkeeper .

Cosmic is able to now use AI to automate these tasks.

I was told that the organisation is may be going to move out to cloud accounting software that we all know and we also have clients using this software .

But, their requirement is complex and moving out will not solve their issues

Well you will only know when you gone other side to see if it is green…..

Reckon desktop has its origin codes of Intuit Inc , is still the best , it can easily handle a very large organisation , easily handle massive number of items, customers, suppliers and ledgers and cant see any reason to move out to another accounting systems.

One should always do the home work before looking at the other side ….

Thanks for raising an interesting topic.

Out of curiousity, was it a case of functionality within Reckon Accounts Desktop not being able to action the requirements of the user within the software itself that initiated their consideration of moving away or was it a case of the functionality existing but it was a high level of workload for the individual user?

The functionality is processing or manually processing BILLS like a utility bill spreading its cost over multiple cost centres with very complex % and formulas required before hand to post .

This function is not at available in any Accounting software that i know. So to fix this one requires and an external add on and CosmicBills now has the ability to use AI technology to do this.

The issue is Reckon Desktop systems even though its most stable solid and reporting product , we are now competing with emergence of highly innovative cloud accounting systems. Since 2006, the world of accounting systems has been changed the whole ecosystem is changed due to cloud accounting systems.

Due to huge market awareness , advertising and campaign by the competitors, the business owners, Accountants are swayed by these campaigns, and such they move out, not thinking properly implications and other hidden costs to move out.

Well, i am still trying to talk to them, but i dont think i have any chance .
