Completing the Business Activity Statement - W1 query

Question

My figure at W1 (total salary, wages and other payments) does not include holiday pay or leave loading in the Gross Payment that is calculated when preparing the BAS.  Do I need to reconfigure something?

Welcome to the Community @terrina !

As @klaura mentioned, this is due to the expansion of Tax Tracking Type categories for STP2.  The link provided is a good resource for Payroll Items however I believe your query is actually on the Simplified BAS W1 label prefill, which is a separate thing.

W1 will populate based on which Tax Tracking Type categories you have selected for that label, so you just need to click on the W1 button & select all the applicable ones:

Failing that, search the term "W1 BAS label" in google & it should be the first result:

TIP: Once you have all your BAS labels selections correct, the system should retain them, however sometimes this doesn't happen so to avoid that, I always Save each BAS to Open next time.  You can then just click on Config to change your relevant periods/sections & the labels will remain as per your previous selection ☺️

Hi terrina,

You may need to check how your leave items are set. I have attached here a KB which will provide you more information about the new tax tracking for leave items under STP Ph 2.
