I made a mistake with wages - need to adjust the stp for PAYG - confused!!

Have been trying to contact the ATO - no luck

I made a mistake with a staff wage - which I resolved the following week (overpaid). I also adjusted the wage on the week in question in reckon

BUT I need to let the ATO know - as PAYG is wrong - what option do I choose in the STP reporting - is it a new payrun/ full file replacement — for that week that I corrected

or do I update a previously completed ?

Any advice much appreciated - ATO not taking calls!!

    Hi @JWakefield

In this situation, you can edit the pay run and make changes as required. Once changed, please submit the STP as an update event.

Please find the attached link for your reference - Update Event - Reckon Help and Support Centre

Also, check this out - Pay Event Types - Reckon Help and Support Centre

I hope this helps, please reach out if any concerns. Thank you!

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year :)

    Regards

Unlike our actual STP submissions, the ATO's STP prefill of W1 & W2 is not in real time & will therefore sometimes not be correct (even when you haven't made any errors !)

Because of this, the ATO advises - at these labels - to rely on your payroll data & amend these prefill amounts if required:

The above is a screen snip from access today. The last pay date for this entity was 19th (yesterday) but you can see it was last updated on 12th so these amounts will not be correct as they're missing yesterday's STP data. Therefore, I would edit these amounts as per my actual payroll reports.
