I recently got a new phone. When 1 went to lodge my STP report my MFA authenticator generated code wouldnt work.

I am one of 2 people that does our business wages and lodges the STP report. I used the MFA authenticator and my collegue receives a text code. When it wasnt working on my new phone I rang Reckon Tech support and was told only 1 phone could receive verification even though before we both could depending who was trying to lodge the report. Is there a way around this as when my collegue is away I cant lodge STP reports.

Thanks

Nicole

    Hi @nicoleswan

Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to set up MFA codes on two devices, as I was under the impression it could only be set up on one phone as well.

If you need access while your colleague is away, you can reset the MFA and link it to your device instead.

    Kind Regards,
    Jason

Hi - You can have the same MFA on multiple devices using authenticator app.

When initially registering for MFA in Rekcon (or any other app for that matter), take a screenshot of the QR Code used to register in the Auth app. You can then use that same QR Code to register on any other phone that has an authenticator app and they'll all have the same 6 digit MFA codes.

If you didn't take screenshot of the QR code initially, goto your Reckon dashboard and MFA settings and choose the "revoke the MFA" option so you can setup a new MFA registration and get a new QR Code (once done, delete the original from your app because it won't work anymore)

    Hi @nicoleswan ,

    Thank you for your query.

Reckon adheres to a strict one license, one device MFA setup policy.

This means each license can be associated with only one multi-factor authentication (MFA) setup.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to configure multiple MFAs for a single hosted account. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but this policy has been implemented to enhance the security of our client's data. By limiting MFA to a single setup per license, we aim to provide a higher level of protection against unauthorized access and ensure the safety and confidentiality of the information .

If you want to revoke the existing MFA while your colleague is away and set up on your device as advised by Jason from the Hosted account then follow the steps here -Revoke MFA

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

    Kind regards,

    Reeta
