Superannuation Clearing Houses were introduced to simplify the process of sending Super contributions information and payment to the Super Funds. This system has not replaced the existing system of businesses paying directly to the Super Funds. However, paying through Super Funds is the preferred method because of the time saving and simplicity involved.
Reckon One is still configured to record payments to individual super funds only, when the reality is the user is making one bulk payment to a Clearing House. The real-life transaction is not being replicated in Reckon One. Users are forced to process individual transactions to super funds through a Clearing Account so their bank ledger account matches the entries on the Bank Statement.
A good development will be to allow:
1. Settings > Superannuation funds, to house Super Clearing Houses as well
2. A Superannuation Fund setup have a checkbox linking the Super Fund & Super Product to the Clearing House
a. As only one Super Clearing House will be used by the user, when One Super Clearing House is created, Super Funds are automatically linked to the Super Clearing House.
3. Make Payment > Super payable, allow one transaction to the Super Clearing House that will clear all super payments in Payroll Liabilities:Super Payable for all the Super Funds that are linked to the Super Clearing House.
a. Allow completion of the Payroll > SuperStream entry automatically generate the Make Payment > Super Payable, entry (similar to payrun > Mark as Paid generating the bank ledger entry for net pays to the employees (and clearing Payroll Liabiliteis:Payroll Payable)
