Welcome to Reckon message continually appears when opening the software

I have finally installed Accounts Personal Plus v31. I activated it at the end of the installation. The licence information states my licence is valid until 31/03/2026.
If I close the application I am unable to just open it again and use it. When I try to open it a box appears headed Welcome to Reckon Accounts. Below are two questions asking if I am a new or existing user. If I choose existing user I have to say which file I want to open. I can then use my Accounts Personal Plus v31.
This is extremely annoying. How do I fix this please?

I'd recommend taking a look at the info in the below help guide, in particular ensure that your file name is less than 8 characters in length -

There is usually 2 things that causes this, the name length as Rav stated and also the data file location, if you want a hand just call me.

Thank you Rav and Jerry. It is all sorted now. I get a little nervous when installing Reckon software updates. I wasn't thinking clearly. The problem occurred because I was opening a 2022 backup file (with a longer name) rather than the 2022 data file.

After upgrading Reckon Personal Plus 2022 to v31 I have just discovered that all my historical price data for my share portfolio has gone.
Can this be fixed, please? I still have my 2022 files.

Gerry I was very careful to open the 2022 data file. How could opening my data file into v31 remove decades of share prices?
I have looked at another post about this headed 'Share price history missing V31' and there are other people who have had the same problem. A solution is offered. I am tempted to try it. What do you think?
I believe I have done everything correctly when I installed version v31.

Can you go to a backup that had the correct info, restore it in V31 and tell me what it shows.

Gerry all appears to be good now. It was all my fault. I had opened the .QDF file in a new directory but not included the .HCX, IDX, QEL, .QIN, or .QPH files in that directory. It created new ones but the .QDF file for example didn't contain my share price history.
