Removed the Hire Employee option from Employee Organizer

Due to changes in ATO Single Touch Payroll, the old Employee Organizer is no longer relevant for hiring or creating new employees. Since this function was outdated and too complex to update, it has been removed.

  • What's the correct way to rehire a terminated employee if the Hire/Rehire employee option is gone?

    Hi @JohnsonT

If you head into the previously terminated employee's profile and then remove the release date from their Employment Info, it will then make the employee available again for payroll.

Thanks Rav, shouldn't it then have an option to put in a rehire date? the Orginal Hire date and Adjusted Service Date are still greyed out?

Great question! Let me check in with the product team about that and I'll come back to you

Ok, I've been advised now that with the removal of the hire employee functionality from the employee organiser in the latest release, those fields are no longer accessible as they were dependent on that former functionality.

Okay, so does that mean there will be a fix for this because if I rehire an employee there needs to be a rehire date, otherwise the information that uploads to STP ie start date etc will be wrong?

The rehire date can be set as the employee's start date. See info from the ATO here.

The hire date and release dates are the only dates reported under Single Touch Payroll.
