Final STP ETP total not correct

I have a rehire that had a ETP payment in November 2024. Part of the termination payment included an ETP payment. They have now been rehired from May 2025. Whilst doing the year end checks, I noticed that their ETP payment is no longer showing in their STP records. Is there something I need to do to fix this?

    Hi @MeganStark

    Welcome to the Community!

What type of payment was the ETP for ? (It may be that it was originally incorrectly mapped to ETP but was later amended so is now reflecting correctly!)

    Hi Shaz

    Thank you for the welcome.

The ETP payment was for In Lieu of Notice, which I was sure was correct. But also happy to take advise and suggestions.

    Hi Megan

Yes, you're correct. ILoN is always an ETP ☺️

Part of the ETP reporting in STP2 is linked to the inclusion of a Termination Date in the employee record in Hosted. Did you use the previous "Re-Hire" feature to reinstate the employee in May ? (This would have allowed a new Hire Date whilst also maintaining the original Termination)

@Rav I believe the "Re-Hire" function has been removed in the new 2025 version however the requirement to remove the termination date to re-hire someone, could present a problem with termination data flowing through in STP2 ? πŸ˜³πŸ€”

    Morning Kaz,

yes, I used the re-hire option when I the employee returned in May. We are also using the new version, so could this be why the November 2024 ETP payment is not reporting in the year end STP file?

    Looking forward to Rav's input.

    Hi folks

From what I understand, the only two employment dates that are sent in an STP submission are the Hire Date and End Date. I'll do a bit of testing when it comes to rehiring an employee within the same FY using the old rehire functionality and whether I can replicate what you're observing.

@MeganStark just to confirm, are you creating your EOFY finalisation in Reckon Accounts Hosted 2025?

    Hi Rav

Yes, that's correct I'm creating the EOFY finalisation in Reckon Accounts Hosted 2025.

    Hi Megan,

I also had this happen to me when terminating and re-hiring an employee within the same FY. I never could get Hosted to reflect the correct amount, but after calls to the ATO, and since (luckily) the ETP was for such a small amount, they told me to just ignore it. I tried to find out if the employee could see the ETP on their side, but was unable to determine that also. If your employee is more helpful, then you could ask them to take a look in their myGov.

I hope you can resolve the issue, but I think it is a problem with the Hosted programme. πŸ˜”

    Hi @JudyA

Can I just confirm whether your case also occurred in the latest 2025 version of Reckon Accounts Hosted and if the rehire was actioned using the previous rehire functionality in the 2024 version?

@Rav No, this occurred during the 2020-2021FY, so it wasn't due to the new version. I never did get it resolved though, and have created a new employee profile, rather than use the re-hire function, to avoid this happening again.

Hi, Following this for a resolution as this has happened to me too for the current STP2 Finalisation. The ETP payment does not appear in any of the total amounts.

Just an FYI … The STP2 ETP display is specifically generated by the presence of a Termination Date entered in the employee record. Did you all do that ? πŸ€”

@Acctd4 Absolutely, 100% sure of that. I have a record of the ETP in STP when I terminated the employee. The issue is that when the employee is reinstated within the same FY, the ETP just disappears from RA. And so when the STP is updated with the latest YTD figures, the ETP also disappears. There has to be an issue with the RA programme.

    Hi folks
Apologies for my delay in getting back to this post, its been a hectic EOFY as I'm sure it has been for you all as well.

I went through some testing and I wasn't able to replicate this by going from 2024 to 2025 so I can't say for certain the removal of the re-hire function has any impact here. The hire date (and release date if entered) are the only two date fields that are sent as part of an STP submission.

With that said, I think it might be best for our support team to step in here so we can get this looked at more thoroughly. If you haven't already spoken with our support team, please give us a call or shoot through an online ticket by clicking HERE. Its more than likely they will need a copy of the QBW file to be sent through and they'll setup a secure transfer for that where required.

I have been advised by Reckon Support Support that the STP amounts won't appear on the finalisation report. As long as they have been previously reported when employee was terminated it is correct.

Thanks for letting us know @Admin10 !

Out of interest, can you please check the employee record itself in the STP portal by clicking on the Detail link for the relevant employee ? :

… I'm wondering if it is still showing, just not in the main screen "ETP" column πŸ€”πŸ˜¬
