@Rav
I am getting this message when I try to email -
"The file you specified cannot be opened. Make sure that it is not currently being used by another program or a read-only file. The Windows error was "The file exists".
Hi @Pia,
I recommend shutting down outlook completely and attempt to email the remittance advice again, but it should be opened by Reckon Accounts.
If that does not work, we may need to check what version of outlook you are using and the preference settings in Send Forms for your company file:
Outlook V1 = Outlook Classic Outlook V2 - Outlook New (last year update of outlook)
Thank you.
Hi @Lucas
I am using outlook classic and my preferences are set correctly. It seems that I need to have my outlook closed when emailing but I still keep getting the same message.
@Lucas
The file exists message refers to -
File: C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Reckon Accounts v34\QBPRINT.QBP
That's very strange as you shouldn't be getting that the server is busy issue. Could you possibly go into your preferences try outlook V2 and close down outlook completely and attempt to send the report again?
When you are sending the reports the outlook window should pop up, once it does you click send, correct? If you attempt to use Reckon Accounts without first sending the outlook email, it will display the server is busy error.
Please let me know what happens and what steps you are exactly taking when getting that error.
Could you please go that location and delete the data file for me? Once you have done that, please try again.
I've searched the v34 program files and it's not locating a QBPRINT.QBP data file?
Hi @Pia
We've got a help guide on this particular error message which I'll link here - https://help.reckon.com/article/tjctl3wbf4
Normally, the QBPRINT.QBP file is located in C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Reckon Accounts 20xx but it can be a hidden folder in most cases. Try out the steps in the article above to see if that helps, let us know how you get on.
Hi @Rav
I have located the file and deleted and that seems to have fixed the issue as long as my outlook is not opened when I'm emailing the remittance. Is this something new in v34 as I did not have to close outlook in previous versions.
