Reckon Personal Plus V31

We have recently purchased this version and installed it. From Day 1 we have been unable to do a backup and this version of Reckon crashes each time a backup is attempted. Has anyone had a similar issue, and if so how did you resolve it?

    I'm sorry to hear your Reckon Personal is crashing during backups.

    If you don't mind, I have a few questions for you to try help fix the issue:

    1. Where is your Personal Plus company file located? Is it in Documents\Quicken\?
    2. Where are you backing up your file to? Is it in Documents\Quicken\Backup\?

    Looking again it looks to be in my one drive and not in the laptop SSD.

    Dear @Juno ,

    This would be the problem - OneDrive is a networked location, and Personal Plus can only access local data for backups.

    You will want to disable OneDrive from moving the files for you in that location, then move the file back to Documents\Quicken\.

    From there, you should be able to backup directly to the backups folder.

    I copied the data files to the new location and now unable to open the data file in the new location. Reckon hangs

    Does it come up with any particular error message?

    Did you copy the file across with the program open?

    No error message. Copied files with program closed.

    Strange. When the program "hangs", I'm assuming it goes to "Not Responding"? Or does it just load for a very long time?

    Sorry if these questions sound repetitive - just need a bit more clarity.

    I have managed to now open the data file from the correct location, however we still have to migrate/search for the file when opening it. I can take more than one attempt to open it.

    Back up still not working.

    It sounds to me like Personal Plus is having a permissions issue.

    Can you try the following for me:

    1. Right-Click on the launch icon on the desktop.
    2. Click Run as Administrator.
    3. This may take you through first-time setup again, but you should be able to open the file and make it the default file.
    4. Once this is opened in the Documents\Quicken version of the file, then backup to Documents\Quicken\Backup. Make sure this isn't the OneDrive version.

    Yes, took me through first time setup to find the default file. Still have the hour glass symbol though as it has not opened.

    Very strange. Do you happen to have any other edition of Personal Plus installed?

    Did you install Personal Plus to the default location?

    De-installed Personal Plus 2019 before starting and installed it to the default location.

    How large is the file in question?

    Just came back so nothing has happened since 11.55am.

    File size is 32031KB.

    Is is worthe unistalling and re installing?
