Inability to access my Reckon Accounts Personal Plus 2016 file

I've been using this program monthly for nearly 10 years to do my personal household bookkeeping and backing up after every session. It now won't open. All I get is a dialogue box "Welcome to Reckon Accounts". When I click to indicate I'm an existing user I get another dialogue box "Select your data file". When I click to "open a file on this computer" I get another dialogue box inviting me to look in a range of places. I've baukled at going further in case I lose my data file. I need to know what I should do. Has Reckon made this old version of Personal Plus suddenly unusable? Is my only choice to buy a subscription to the new version and if I do, will my existing data file automatically be accessable by the new version? I'm an 86 year old with limited IT knowledge and I need help.

    You're doing well at 86 Bill. It sounds like all you need to do is find and open your file on the window that's opened up.

    Why do you think you'd lose your file when it's asking you to open it?

    There are few things that you need to look at, Data file location and name length, if the data file is in One Drive we need to relocate it.
