    Hi @GeorgeDeutsch4213,

I am not sure if we will be able to do that as it's one license activation per IKC key unless you purchase additional. You would need to discuss with the customer service agent on the phone and see what we can do for you.

That's just based on my understanding and it could still be possible.

I also want to ask: Can I run Reckon on both machines (not simultaneously!) for a while whilst I bed down my new computer?

    Hi @GeorgeDeutsch4213,

You will need to call our customer service team 1800 732 566 and ask for the license to be activated on this new computer manually, which essentially transfers it to the new computer.

Let me know how you go.

Thanks very much Lucas - that's what I thought but I wasn't sure.

The other question was can I leave Reckon on my old machine for a little while and use it (not simultaneously) in case there is a problem with the new machine?

@GeorgeDeutsch4213 there's a pinned post at the top of the personal range board with a doc about moving your software to a new PC

This is the KB, Eric is referring to - https://help.reckon.com/article/2ya0bgw36s-kba-5705-moving-reckon-home-and-business-to-the-new-pc

But this is NOT for licensing and mainly to do with moving to a new computer.

Thanks Lucas and Eric. My Reckon and other files are stored on OneDrive and are therefore independent of the computer as I understand it. Therefore I assume I don't have to worry about them being affected by the change as I assume my entire folder structure will appear when I logon to Office 365 on the new computer - OK?

George you should only keep your backups in cloud storage. Your actual file needs to be on c drive

Thanks. Now that I think about it, that's what I do.

No, what I said just before is not right. My four current Reckon files and my backup file are in two different OneDrive folders in the cloud. The backup files are a sub-folder of the current files folder. The file status is currently "Sync Pending" for the current files and "Available on this device" for the backup file.

Should I have a backup file on an offline hard drive as well?

    Hi @GeorgeDeutsch4213,

We do recommend having a separate device such as a USB or external hard drive for a backup of your Reckon data files.

Just incase as you can never be too careful.
