Superannuation error for one employee

Hi Team,

I went into Reckon Payroll today to print off a superannuation contribution report and noticed that one employee who previously had salary sacrifice deductions, but stopped their contribution back in December 2023, these details have reappeared in two pay runs last month but with $0.00 in the amount column.

Upon further investigation, I checked their employee record and under the superannuation tab, I saw that "Salary Sacrifice", "Salary Sacrifice for Super" and "Statutory Super" were all ticked. I did not do this! Statutory Super is the only one that should be marked to be paid.

How on earth has this glitch happened? I did two pay runs in advance due to our Christmas shutdown and these were the pays that were affected.

Could someone look into this matter as it is concerning that this has happened.

Could you please clarify how these pay runs were created? Did you use a default pay or copy from a previous pay run?

I used copy pay items from last pay run.

I had no issue with the December 2024 pays in advance using the same method as I did for December 2025 pays in advance.

It's a total mystery.

If these pay items are included in the employees' pay setup, they will be automatically added when using the default pay item. In this situation, I recommend deleting these items from the payrun. The next time you create a pay run based on the previous pay, these items should no longer appear.

I have already deleted both the super items from the employee's pay record once I spotted the anomaly.

I have done a pay run and the salary sacrifice error as reported above was showing in the employee's details when doing their pay (due to copy pay run from previous). I deleted it but I see on the current payslip the salary sacrifice is showing as $0.00.

Can I go back to the previous two pay runs and put them in draft mode to remove these details? I don't think I need to resubmit these two pay runs to the ATO as there's nothing to report. Is that right?

I would still like this matter investigated by the Dev Team as it shouldn't have happened.

Certainly, you may revert payrun to draft status and remove the details. Also, could you please confirm if this occurs when using the default items?

Hi @klaura

I used the copy pay items from previous in the two affected pay runs. I follow this method every pay run and have not had any issues until recently.
