Best Reckon Training options for beginner user? What would you do?

Hi everyone,

I have tried searching previous topics in the Community but haven't quite got the answer I'm looking for.

Has anyone got any recommendations for Basic Bookkeeping skills ideally using Reckon Hosted? I'd like my step-daughter to help in the Office, as she has the smarts!

I see that Open Colleges offer "Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping" using Reckon One. (Although, ideally I'd like her to begin entering invoices & bills data this financial year.) I'm a Reckon Hosted user through-n-through, is Reckon One a very different platform?

Obviously the underlying bookkeeping skills are what matters, but I just need an idea! 😉

NB/ We are a Learning Hub subscriber as well… but not sure if the webinars are helpful 'enough' for a new bookkeeper who needs to understand and learn the basics of how accounting flows… what do you think?

    From a product perspective, Reckon One is quite a bit different from Reckon Accounts Hosted in a number of ways.

    Firstly it's built on far more modern tech which allows it to receive more regular updates when it comes to new features, fixes and improvements etc. Its more streamlined with integrated STP submissions, access to the free integration with Beam for SuperStream, mobile apps for invoices, payroll and employees.

    On the other hand, Hosted is more mature when it comes to its set of extensive features and reporting capabilities which its a powerhouse at, however the gap is closing pretty fast.

    When it comes to training, the Learning Hub, which you've already mentioned, is a really valuable resource. Open Colleges does indeed utilise Reckon One for its course work so it could also be a potential option.

    The other avenue I'd suggest is engaging with a Reckon Accredited Partner for 1:1 consultation. I'll link our Partner Search which will show Reckon Partners in your area.
