ABA File Upload

Ive created an ABA file for my payroll, saved it to the Q Drive. However when I go thru My Files and locate my file and use the Download option & select the file. it will automatically try to download as a pdf file - I cannot choose it to save to a local file on my computer to then upload online to my bank.

I've just tested this out in my file and in my case, the ABA file downloads as a .ABA file type. See example below.

This is a little bit of speculation on my part but my suspicion is that you have a Windows file association preference set on your PC which is associating .aba files to your PDF program.

Click on the Start button and start type in Default Apps, type in .aba or aba into the search field and confirm if any results appear which show your PDF application set as the default for that file type.

Hi Rav, checked default apps but no results found. Followed your instructions.

So I did a test run - downloaded it as usual, got msg that cannot open/save file because not pdf compatible. Jumped onto bank online and browsed for file in my computer downloads, and there it was showing as pdf but when uploaded to the bank it came through as an .aba file.

Dont know why its doing this but it would be hugely easier if when I created aba file and it is saved to a file/folder - I would like to change where it is saved to ie straight to a local folder on my pc not into Q drive.

Can this not be done? Ive tried saving the aba file to a local folder but it will not give me the option - its either Q drive or B Drive (backups) or my PC. If I click on my PC it is totally blank and saves it no where

That’s correct, with Hosted you must save to the Q drive and then download to PC. I use this feature every week and I’ve never had an issue with a pdf format, have you tried changing the name of the file to xyz.aba (e.g.). I replace the a a file every week using the same name. You never have to open it, but if you need to you right click on it and open with notepad.

I always check the amount when imported agrees with the payroll report
