Time taken to generate a report

Why does it take so long for reports to generate. e.g. Reconciliation Discrepancy Report.

Its taken more than 20minutes?

Is this occurring across all reports you attempt to generate or just the Reconciliation Discrepancy report?

Is this a new occurrence? ie. has this just starting happening for you recently?

Is the particular report you're generating spanning across a larger than usual date range?

Is your file in single user or multi-user mode?

Hi Rav,

Multi user mode used. Mostly are not too long but certainly end of month, BAS reports. BAS Reports and EOM are usually in single user mode but still slow to generate. Sometimes we give up because it takes too long. ?

How often do you make a backup?

When did your reports not take such a long time to generate?

Recommend that you compare the report generation time for a specific report in both single-user and multi-user modes.

Hi Rav,

We use Reckon Hosted. Do the files automatically back up to the cloud ? How do I check when the last back up was done? I also do not know how to see how big the file is. e.g. Quarterly BAS statements

My co worker has been using Reckon for the last several years and she said it has always been slow.

Please note that backups of the company data file are not automatically created.

Typically, the person designated as the Admin user is responsible for creating backups.

To review the terms and conditions for backups with Reckon, you can refer to the following key points in section 12.3.d and 12.3.e:

Backup files that were created or modified more than 365 days before any given day on which Reckon measures its infrastructure will be removed from Reckon’ servers.
It is your responsibility to regularly back up all your files created and ensure they are downloaded to your own storage. No files you create or modify on Reckon’s servers will ever be older than 365 days.

You can check when the last backup was created on the Hosted welcome screen.

You can use the My Files tool to determine the file size.
