Unusual Characters in SAFF File

When lodging SAFF file with Colonial First State Clearing House I am receiving a message to say an error occurred while processing, There are too many invalid employers in the file. When I open up the .csv file the sender ABN and the Employer ABN has unusual characters appearing.

Any suggestions as to what I have done wrong.

What characters are appearing specifically in the SAFF in those fields?

Are there any of those special characters in the respective fields within your Reckon Accounts Hosted company file itself?

In the SAFF file the ABN is not showing but the below characters are.

None of these characters appear in the Company Information

Thanks for that, what I'd suggest in the first instance is to head to those fields in your file and remove anything in them and then re-add and save. Don't copy and paste, but rather type it in manually.

Once that is done, create a new SAFF and try uploading and confirm whether that works successfully or not.

Also, can I just confirm that you've setup your file and items for SAFF using the steps outlined in our guide below?

I did have a customer previously with a similar issue but with different characters.

Have you tried running a Verify then a Rebuild on the data file?

Thanks so much RAV I have lodged successfully by removing the ABN in the company info and retyping and saving. Fingers crossed my file has all information.

Glad to hear it worked for you.

I didn’t get a chance to investigate exactly why it happened for my customer either, however the rebuild seemed to correct those characters for me. Re-entering the data may have refreshed it on your end as well.
