Hi, Why aren't my Employment Expenses such as Salary, PAYG and Superannuation appearing in my profit and loss report. Salary is an Expense account while PAYG and Superannuation are Other Current Liability accounts. Everything is balancing and STP and Payday Super reporting are going fine. Why not showing on my P&L.

The Salary expense is gross so the PAYG tax is included.

If you’re not seeing Super as a separate payroll expense, either:

Your Super Payroll Items are not correctly mapped to it
You’ve got everything posted to the one account (eg “Payroll Expenses”) instead of separating them.

Yes, definitely separate them out.

You won't lose any data as you're just updating the Payroll Item mapping to the new (Super sub) account instead :

PAYG is a liability and won’t appear in a profit and loss. Superannuation should appear, I would look at the super payroll item and make sure the expense account is correct. It should be super liabilities at the top of the window and Expense account superannuation down below. Salary should also be on Profit and loss. Again look at the same thing in the payroll item.

Yep that's exactly what I've done I've got Salary and Superannuation both as payroll expenses. I'd like to separate them out. Perhaps keep payroll expenses as an item and add 2 subaccounts one for Salary and the other for Super but I fear that I'll lose all the current information. Its not the end of world if it does all have to stay together as lump sum because I can reconcile by other means. Your thoughts?
