New Day to Day Invoice list layout

@Rav I didn't see this one coming. I am not sure I like this new layout. I found the old one quite good, but this new one, I think my neck will wear out going from invoice number to the balance due column over and over for each payment. It is also not as clear or easy to read as before.
I use this to enter customer receipts rather than the Receive Money, because I could include more than one invoice, whereas it didn't in Receive Money.

If I want to see what was on an invoice before, I would just select it, now its all there on the screen whether I want it or not.

Can we change the column positions? I just tried to move the "email status" column to the far right but it didn't move.

Also, not liking that when I select an invoice to pay, it used to show below what other invoices that this customer had yet to pay. I found this very useful. Especially to see if they had missed any older ones, all in the same process as adding a payment.

You can click the Show / hide columns drop-down list.

There you can select/click and move (drag up/down) the specific column header as needed.

@Datarec thanks for this. I had done a search but found nothing on it. Now moved emails to the end along with 2 other empty columns, and now have the relevant bits closer together.
There is a lot of empty space in the top third of the window, the header. Wish that could be condensed so more line items will appear on the screen.

The other thing, I find the alternate line shading worse to look at than the previous all white with black line divisions. Alternate shading is like going back to 1980's when the paper in dot matrix printers had alternate shading. It probably helped back then because the paper was very wide. But I use A4 paper now, so it isn't necessary and it makes it harder to focus on the continual variation.

Are you referring to the row shading?

Recommend that you put that forward your ideas:

so you can keep track of updates on its progress
and so that others can vote on it

Being able to see all the unpaid invoices a customer had in the Day to Day, Invoices, selecting one or two invoices to pay, then Record Payment - now does not show all the unpaid invoices down below. It was handy to see what was still unpaid at this point, but now with the new version, I cannot.

Any chance of bringing that back? I preferred the previous layout too. Way too much in this new layout.

This is still available and in fact, with the new invoice list screen its become quicker and easier to pay multiple invoices from the same customer.

If you have multiple unpaid invoices from the same customer you can apply payment directly from the new invoice list screen. Simply tick the invoice(s) and select the Record Payment button, a new menu will appear allowing you to directly apply payment to those invoices.

Alternatively, you can still access the Receive Money screen which will show all unpaid invoices for the customer directly from the invoice list screen as well. Simply select the Full Payment Details button which will take you through to the screen you may be familiar with and will see unpaid invoices listed at the bottom.

The new invoice screen will only show in the payment allocation window those invoices that had been selected prior to clicking on the Record payment button.

In the example screenshot, invoice I_003 for the customer "MA-739 Customer" has not been selected.

When the record payment button is selected, it only shows those two selected invoices.

As @Rav indicated, it is when you click the "Add full payment details" button that the Receive Money screen that matches the screen you are expecting appears.

There it shows the three unpaid invoices for that customer.

I used to have this same facility in Day to Day → Invoices, and selecting the "unpaid" group, where I would select one or more invoices, and a record payment button was there, and when that opened up, you add the payment details, and below you could see all that customer's unpaid invoices with payments applied to the ones just selected. This payment process was fine, and very handy to see what the customer still hadn't paid. I didn't use the "Receive Money" at all for customers.

Using the "add full payment details" does take one back to the previous method's screen like I was used to. But a longer way to do it, for what benefit?

The benefit is that with this new update, you don't need to go to the full Receive Money screen to apply payments to a single or multiple invoices and instead it can be actioned directly from the invoice list. Less clicks, more intuitive and a more streamlined experience.

Alternatively, if you want to access the Receive Money screen that you're more accustomed to, then you can do so via the Full Payment Details button.

The software will be evolving over time and not all things new are met with initial enthusiasm.

Consider going to the Reckon One Ideas - Reckon Community page and putting through a feature request for a user-selectable configuration option to go directly to the older "Receive Money" screen that is still present instead of the newer "Record Payment" screen.

Then if there are others who also like it that way, they can vote for it.

As I wrote before , I did not enter customer receipts via "Receive Money".

Using the Invoices page worked well, could easily select multiple invoices or just one, and then it came up with the same add extra details but did so without the extra time and clicking.

Did you not know that you could pay invoices, (one or many) via the Invoice function before this change?
