I noticed the amount of PAYG calculated for each employee doesn't match the ATO's table. As a result, I have to adjust the tax manually. Is anyone else having the same issue?
Hi @joeljp
The tax rates have reduced slightly for this FY (so the new PAYG amount is around $5-$10 less per wk/fn, than before) 😁
If you’re getting a different result, it will be a config issue, either within the employee record or the Payroll Item(s)
Give us an example of the tax that you are seeing on a particular gross amount to compare please. Have you got any allowances setup for employees?
For example, a monthly gross total of $6032 is showing $1374 as tax. It should be $1144, as per the ATO PAYG calculator.
Check the config of your standard (12%) employer Super Payroll Items (These should only be ticked for State Payroll Tax, NOT for PAYG Tax)
Hi Shaz, thanks for the tip. I rang the help desk and I was advised to make sure both PAYG and State Payroll Tax are unchecked. I've unchecked both and now the PAYG tax is calculated correctly. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
