we have 2011-12 Efposs software. cash drawer is not opening. Could you please advise., Thanks - Kash

Hey Kash,
Please check that the configurations have not. If the POS software is configured correctly, it may be an issue with the machine itself and not the software. If this is the case, you would need to contact the manufacturer of the psychical hardware. Note: Most machines have a manual release switch to open the draws. The manufacturer or the user guide may advise you where it is located (maybe a google search could help, if you can't locate your user guide).

Hi Kash
Normal configuration for a cash drawer is that it plugs into a port (sometimes marked DK for Drawer Kicker) on the back of the receipt printer. Some things to check:- is it plugged into the right spot (some printers have a network cat 5 port as well);
- is the printer turned on (the printer powers the cash drawer kicker)
- is POS options Cashdrawer configured with the cash Drawer connected to port on receipt printer.
- is the cash drawer just locked (you should hear it try to open)

Hi there Graham, this very same issue has happened to our till and we are now unable to open the cash drawer without the key. I think the drawer kicker sounds like it may be the issue. As a total novice I will try this a little later and get back to you. Please advise if this is ok. Cheers Jann0
