A client using QuickBooks 2010/11 could not open a QBW file and received the error message (-6155,0). In the knowledge browser this error refers to restoring a backup and suggested doing the restore from a local drive. This fix was not a match to the problem.
Fix - copy the QBW file and change the file name (I just added 'copy' to the existing file name).
We were then able to open the company file.

Hi Catherine,
By design Reckon Accounts (and the old Quickbooks QBi) sets the company file to Read Only when it is closed. Its a security measure. That makes is annoying when you are restoring a backup to replace a corrupted file but protects the company file from other mis-practices.
So if you want to overwrite the company file you must first remove the Read Only tag by right-clicking the file in its Directory, Properties, and un-ticking the Read-Only box. Alternatively, when restoring a backup give it another name.
In Hosted, you do not have the ability to remove the Read Only tag so you have to save it as another name.
The KB is being updated.
I hope this explains the situation.
regards,
John0
