after using Home & Business 2013 for 2 years, the Show Report and Show Graph buttons have stopped working.  Nothing happens when I click them. Should I uninstall and reinstall the software again? How do I get support for this issue?

    Hi Kayleen,

In the first instance, I'd just recommend shutting down the software and restarting your PC

Is there any change after this? Has the issue only just started occurring?

Hi Rav, thank you for trying to help. I noticed it first about 2 months ago, but it wasn't a real concern at that stage. I have obviously shut down and restarted many times since then, with no change. It does not apply to ALL Show Report and Show Graph buttons. All of the Custom Reports I have created and saved ALL work. Among the predefined Reports that came with the software, some do and some don't. For instance, under 'Banking' they all work except for Cash Flow by Tag and Transactions; under 'Spending' none of the Reports work; under Comparison, Cash Flow Comparison works, but none of the others; and so forth. The customise button does work, and brings up the customise screen, however the Show Report and Show Graph buttons on this screen also do not work. Any ideas what I can try?

Hi again, interestingly.... having tried to run this many reports, my screen is now locked and showing the "Find Transactions" message box. The 'cancel' doesnt work. I tell you this, not for you to solve this new thing for me, but to suggest that maybe when I hit the Show Report button, it goes off searching for transactions, and that is as far as it gets??? In the past, when the Show Report button did not work, I have minimised all my screens one at a time to see if there was a message box waiting further instructions from me, but there has not been. That's all....... thanks. Kayleen

Thanks for getting back to me Kayleen, and for the added info,

I've just had a quick word with our support folks around this, there are a couple of steps they have recommended.

Firstly, can you please validate (File > File Operations > Validate) and SUPER validate your file - http://kb.reckon.com.au/issue_view.asp?ID=2784

Does the issue still occur after this?

If so, can you please open the Sample File and check if the same issue is occurring there?

Let me know how you get on

    Cheers
    Rav

Awesome Rav, you are a real treasure. The validate & supervalidate process reported an error: QDF: Validating the QDF file. Fixed damage for account: "LOAN Baxter Street". There now appears 4 transactions dated today in this Loan Liability Account, uncategorized - 2 debits and 2 credits, leaving the account reconciled. Is it my tedious job now to try and find the correct transaction dates, and edit the date and category of these four rebel transactions? Kayleen

Awesome to hear there has been some progress!

Now in regard to the transactions, unfortunately its a little hard to say at this point, but best thing would be to determine what these four transactions are and how they relate to "Loan Baxter Street" and then take the appropriate action required for them. Which unfortunately, could be to correct the dates and category :(

Thanks heaps for your help. Sending good vibes your way. I have done a complete export of transactions from the bank records and matched against Reckon going back to 2008, and cannot find that any are missing. A big mystery to me. They certainly do not relate to this financial year, so I will put it in my too hard basket for another day. Thanks again. Kayleen
