Finding transactions

I need to find all the entries of any kind that have been entered or modified on a given day. I have tried the Audit Trail report. This does not include Tax invoices and payments received. I have also tried using Edit, Find and selecting the date but this also does not include tax invoices and payments received. As this is what I am looking for in particular I am getting very frustrated. Please help

Yes I tried that but it only seemed to put up bills and bill payments, no payments received even though I had transaction type set to all.

If you want Invoice and payments go to reports - customers & receivables - customer balance detail. That will show invoices and payments by customer

I always initially create, Modify & Memorise an “Entered/Modified Today” custom report sorted in entry order as a session report.

Just do a search in the Advanced tab of the Find section using the Entered/Modified Filter set to Today, change the Detail Filter to Summary Only (to view each transaction as a single line entry) & click on the Report button. You then need to click on the Modify Report button & add (tick) the “Entered/Modified” column for inclusion. You can also add/remove any other columns as required as well as choosing Entered/Modified to Sort by in the RHS of that Modify window 😁

This will show you every transaction you have entered or modified in time entry order!

Anything through the Find option only seems to give me bills and bill payments. I am looking for received payments.

@ClareBailey I'm referring to this window:

This is as per my instructions above & will show you ALL transactions. It is located under the Edit dropdown menu > Find

Yep, that's what I used but only bills and bill payments showed up. No invoices or payments received showed up even though I had transaction type set to "all".

Have you actually entered any invoices or payments today though????  If you're not seeing any, that means you haven't.  To expand the date/day range, you need to change that Entered/Modified Filter range.

Also, check the Current Choices Filters shown to ensure you're not inadvertently filtering out anything.  It should only show the Filters as above.  If there are any others there, that's the issue - For each additional filter listed, highlight it with your mouse & press delete on your keyboard to remove, then click on the Find button again to refresh the display.

Change the date range on your report to last year or this year and see what comes up

I have definitely entered customer payments and invoices on the day I am searching. Hence why I am asking the question. There are many, but they just don't show up in that report. Changing the report to all dates doesn't help as I need the list that was entered on that date not any other dates. Customer Balance Detail is the way to go Zappy. The Find option previously mentioned just doesn't show what I need.

@ClareBailey Good to hear you've found what you need!

For future reference .... The above "Find" is a blind search so will find ALL transactions based on the Filters selected. If you were unable to see what you had entered for a specific day, it means you inadvertently had other filters selected 😫
