Customer and supplier is same person

As a community choir, we have a 100+ singers (customers) who pay an annual membership fee at the beginning of the year. Sometimes this needs to be refunded much later. But to do this they have to be classified as a supplier. How can I use the same name for this singer who is both a customer and a supplier?

    we also have customers that we both buy from and sell to. we just set them up at Joe Blow (customer) and joe blow (supplier), seem to work as they are two separate entities

    I just flag them as a Supplier and Customer then you can use them in either module instead of having multiple suppliers/customers setup.
