Super on Workcover
I have an employee who has made a Workcover claim. She was off work for one week. The employer must pay the first two weeks of wages when a claim has been made, then Workcover will pay.
Workcover has calculated how much I must pay her as a gross weekly amount.
Do I have to add super to that? Workcover does not pay super for injured workers wages for the first 52 weeks, but does the employer?
TIA

No, WorkCover is actually "paying" her, it's just via reimbursement to you.
Set up a new Payroll Item (& associated Payroll Expense-type subaccount) for this (Wage > Hourly) with PAYG Tax selected but no Super inclusions ๐

Pay tax only. If you did not buyout your excess, then you cop 10 days plus medical excess, the rest is reimbursed. I advise you to send all medical directly to workcover if itโs over the medical excess, get them to pay it. Itโs your option, and your not out of pocket.
Some awards and agreements give workers super entitlements while on workcover so check.
Generally your workcover provider will advise you not to pay anything until they have accepted the claim.
