Retaining Access to Archived Files in Reckon Accounts Premier 2018 when upgrading computer
Hi Brains Trust 😁
Prior to moving our company to Reckon Hosted, the company was utilising Reckon Accounts Premier. The software is currently still installed on the main desktop so we can access the archived records (Payroll in particular).
We are updating our administration PC's and wanting to transfer the access to the archives to the new systems. Is this possible? Or, is there another way we can save this data in a read only format for ongoing access should it be required.

Is the RA Premier file not the same one that you uploaded into Hosted ? That would be the usual process meaning it's exactly the same file (eg it contains all the same historical data)

If you didn’t update your existing file from Reckon Accounts as per Shaz’s post you could backup the old file and upload to Hosted and rename it Old File

Hi Shaz,
The company file in Hosted data commences on the 01/07/2018, the change over was prior to my time with the company. I am not certain what the reason was behind not importing the full files.

I had thought of this as an option 😀 My IT Guru seemed to recall a read only version solution that might have been available.

You can put a password on the file to help ensure you don’t open the wrong file, don’t need a read only version because you have a current subscription to Hosted
