Upgrading from Reckon Accts Plus 2022 to 2023

Hello all. I've installed Reckon Accounts Plus 2023 but when I try to load the backup file (from an external hard drive) that I created prior to the install it changes from a .QBB to a .QBW extension at which point a message appears stating that I don't have permission to save in that location, etc?? I'm not sure where the problem lies. I have completely uninstalled the 2022 version. Does anyone have any ideas?

@Firecert Yes, that’s correct - It will then convert your backup to a new working file (.qbw)

If you’re getting a permissions message, that’s to do with your PC folder permissions, not Reckon. Restore the file to another location ☺️

    Hi @Firecert

If you're restoring a backup file (.qbb) - rather than opening the original (.qbw) make sure you select the applicable file type option here:

... as you can't "Open" a backup file

FYI for future reference - You didn't need to Uninstall the previous version ☺️

Thanks for the response Shaz but I've been selecting the "restore a backup file" as you've highlighted and then navigated to the new 2023 file location and it's at that point where the backup extension changes from .QBB to .QBW??

Part of the restore process creates the qbw file
