Inventory Assemblies

Hi .. hoping for some tips. We build items from bulk products. A couple of our items we first build a quantity (e.g., 1,000ml) which then gets stored until bottling up into retail-size bottles. I have created the assembly item with the bulk quantities needed to make this, and I want the inventory to reflect how many millitres of it I have built, ready to package. BUT when I build this, Reckon is treating it as ONE mililitre (instead of 1,000ml).. so while my stocks of raw materials goes down OK, my inventory does not reflect the "ready-to-package" quantity. I have had a look to see where to change this, but the U/M does not appear to be editable to reflect what I am achieving here.
What am I missing.
Thanks for tips on this!!

You may have to look at measurement and move the decimal point somehow.

Hi Sharon
When you set up a UOM, you need to set it up at it's BASE (eg minimum) level:
You can then select or add Related Units in the next window:
Once you do that, you can edit the UOM Set to specify your Sale & Purchase units:
Note: Assemblies should be specific eg contain exact quantities for the build, not the bulk amount

Thanks.. Your screenshots were for creating a new U/M, but I already had it .. Are you suggesting that my BUILT BULK item should look different to this
UIU even created a new U/M (with different name, as you can see) and it's not different. Or do I need to have SALE unit set to 1L (which is the default qty we build at once).
Also, would I have to delete and re-builds to see updates?
TIA.

Hi Sharon
From your screenshot, it looks like the UOM Set is correct but yes - if 1L is your minimum selling qty that you work with - set that for the Sales unit.
" ... Also, would I have to delete and re-builds to see updates ..?" Good question, I'm not actually sure!

Not sure that is right as I make up 1000mL and then bottle that up into 10 & 25 mL retail quantities.

OK, I'm a bit confused as you said:
" ... do I need to have SALE unit set to 1L (which is the default qty we build at once) ..." ?
The MINIMUM amount that you work with is what needs to be the base unit as you need to be able to convert it accordingly.

I'm also confused. We make up 1L.. so everything should be set to the mL. But when I build 1,000mL my inventory thinks i have built 1,. ML.
How do I let it know that 1x build of 1000mL of ingredients gives me 1000mL of product to dispense? Here is my build set-up.
But when I go to Assemble this bulk item, while I have enough raw materials to build 3L, it's got 3mL as my max build qty.

I’ll see if I can find out some more specifics on this for you ☺️

Hi Sharon
This info may help:
(Note: It’s on Intuit’s website for “QuickBooks” however this is the original base coding for Reckon Accounts/Hosted)
