How to create a salary sacrifice entry in STP phase 2

I have one employee that chose to have all his gross salary sacrificed to his super in a given month. I entered the gross amount of $10,000.00 and, when editing the pay run, under Superannuation section I clicked on Salary Sacrifice for Super and specified the fix amount of $10,000.00.

When trying to save I got the massage that sounds like "Error! Cannot enter duplicate item for super". I thought this would be because the superannuation guarantee of 11.5% and such I deleted that item.

When trying again to enter the full $10,000.00 gross as salary sacrificed I got the same "Error! Cannot enter duplicate …" message.

Out of ideas I entered a salary sacrifice of just $10.00 and to my surprise it saved it. Then I edited again and replaced the $10.00 with the desired amount of $10,000.00. This time it was saved. Wondering if I done the right thing or whether this is in fact a bug in your system.

If I haven't done the right thing I would appreciate an advise about how to do it properly.

Thank you in advance,

Julian Greculescu

    Hi @Julian

I can't say that I recall seeing an error message like that before in Reckon Accounts Desktop.

Can you please post a screenshot of the payrun when this error appears. Feel free to obfuscate any personal details that may be on-screen.

Thank you guys. I figured out what the issue was. It was not a problem with the system but rather the way I used it. I did not realised that Salary Sacrifice to Super was already there with a value of $0.00 and I wrongly tried to add it again using add super item function. Because that item was already there the error given to me was right. Then when actually changing the $0.00 Salary Sacrifice to Super to $10.00 then $10,000.00 it actually worked.

Sorry about the confusion; I am still learning how to use the system.
