I currently have it set up as a Payroll Item 'deduction'. It shows up on the employee's payslip but does not transfer to STP.
Hi @StephG
Child support deductions/garnishees are not supported in Reckon Accounts 2023 as part of STP Phase 2 so you can continue doing this as you are now.
Hi, do we know if/when Child Support Deductions will be supported as part of STP? Just had child support call me and they advised they will call me every month to confirm amounts unless I can report via STP ... This is going to be so painful having to deal with them every month :(
Hi @NoshcalTransport
Child Support reporting is not yet compulsory under STP2. It's currently optional but you should be able to report it online ? There are multiple options depending on the type of letter you've received from Services Australia:
You can also pay via Credit/Debit Card, including over the phone 😊
When will Hosted be updated to tax track child support deductions under Deduction label D STP2 reporting?
@OnsiteTimber I don't believe there are any plans for it at this stage as it's not a mandatory component of STP Phase 2 reporting currently.
Hi just checking that there is still no option in Reckon STP2 to report Child Support Garnishee Tax Tracking Code "G"?
Hi @Robyn_7112869
There haven't been any changes in this area. Child support deductions or garnishee reporting is not mandatory as part of STP Phase 2 so is not supported in Reckon Accounts at this stage.
I just have it setup as a deduction which goes to a clearing account. When the payment is made it offsets the clearing account
Agree with @Rav above … At this stage - because it’s not compulsory in STP 2 - it’s mapped as None as it’s not currently reportable 😊
