FYE 25/26 Payroll

Assuming no change to tax rates in FYE 2026 I have been getting a different PAYG for July 25 compared to June25.
The PAYG is actually reflecting higher in July25
Assumption gross payment $2750 with TFT PAYG should be $243.00 however when notionally preparing for July the PAYG is reflecting $303.00
I've checked & checked but still can't identify the reason for the different PAYG in the new tax year.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Is there any difference in how you're creating the pay run vs last month? Is the employee a student? I think there were some minor changes for them?

Thx Eric - no changes & no student employee.

Thx Zappy,
If "TWC" refers to the ATO tax withholding tables, have manually calculated the PAYG for first monthly payment for the new tax year. There is a difference between the Reckon PAYG calc & the ATO tables. - not large but it is confusing.
Have rechecked the payroll setup but cannot see any obvious error.

Hi @cl3arwat3r
Have you checked the pay period is the same ?
Is there any different Payroll Item being used on the July one (eg a different Super) ? If so, check its config as it may be incorrectly calculating additional tax 🤔
Can you post a screenshot of the Taxes tab ? (You can block out any identifying info)

I think the payroll item for super has got PAYG ticked when it shouldn’t have because that makes rhe PAYG figure 303

That's it Kris - when I removed the tick for PAYG in the payroll item for super it sorted.
So obvious hey - but I simply missed it!
Thank you so much for your assistance - very much appreciated.

I find that the easiest way to check tax amounts is to use the ATO app on my phone. It provides a tab for Tax Withheld Calculator. I have been using it for years and would not be without it.

I might have already mentioned the TWC
Easiest thing in the world to navigate
Easier than pulling out all the tables

Sorry Kevin. At the time I didn't recognise what you were referring to when you mentioned TWC on the website, hence why I referred to the ATO app on my phone and its full title of Tax Withholding Calculator.
