We have only one employee and even though we thought we had done a finalization for their payroll in STP at the end of 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 the amount shown in their MYGov is incorrect. They are only now trying to submit their tax for last year. It is showing Not tax ready

How do we check that the finalization was done and how do we rectify what they have in their MYGov.

Welcome to the Community @Emmanuel15 !

The finalisation is a separate, stand-alone “Finalise Year” submission so it sounds like this wasn’t done.

I never lodge any STP submission without first cross-checking the figures, so I know it’s always accurate. You’ll find my instructions on this - along with a few screenshots - in this thread here:

My finalisation report is the same as the one per pay run but instead of per pay frequency, I set columns by Employee & the dates to Last Payroll Year 😁

There’s also a Reckon video demo on this thread here:

    Hope that helps 😊

    Hi @Emmanuel15 ,

    Welcome to the Reckon community.

To assist you further, could you please provide answers to the questions listed below for clarification regarding the issue?

    • Can you confirm whether the STP finalization files for both 2023–2024 and 2024–2025 were successfully submitted and accepted by the ATO?
    • Is there anything in the employee’s setup (e.g., income type, termination date, TFN) that have been changed in those financial year?
    • Have you check in Reckon Govconnect portal whether the submissions were success or there is error ?

    Kind regards,

    Reeta

Thank you for the help, especially getting into STP without creating payroll.

It appears that I hadn't successfully submitted the STP finalization files have now done this and will wait to see if it is cleared up from employees end

    King Regards
