Why does Reckon desktop not allow payslips & remittances not to be emailed from the program


I have a new laptop Asus Vivobook to which has the latest Microsoft office suite on it.
I could not email payslips or remittances directly from Reckon desktop.
I rang support on 9/9/2025 re this matter to which I was told I had to download outlook classic 365 for desktop to which was already installed on my laptop. I took my laptop to a computer technician to which he informed me I did have outlook classic 365 for desktop installed & he rang Reckon for support to which he was given the same answer as I was given. The problem is within Reckon and should be fixed. The computer technician looked at online forums and this appears to be a problem within Reckon itself and has been for sometime. I feel I was fobbed off and the support person did not look into this matter enough and it cost me $155.00 to have this matter sorted to which I should not have had to pay for.

A suggestion worth trying - go to Preferences, Send forms, and change the email provider

This is how I email payslips & remittances. However, a message kept coming up and would not email payslips or remittances.
Technical support is aware of the error and it is to do with Windows 11 & due to an error with the new outlook classic 365. The computer technician finally fixed the problem.

Can you please put the photo in the centre because I cannot read all the instructions. Is this for desktop?
If this was the case, why didn't the support guy tell me to do this instead he told me to download the latest outlook classic 365 for desktop?

that was only taken for my benefit, but go to Edit - Preferences - send forms - then look at email provider and try changing it, there are only 2 choices

When I found this solution it wasn’t what Reckon recommended and in fact I couldn’t use their suggestion anyway so kept looking. This is on Desktop and Hosted.
But as always with tech problems there are many ways to get the right results
I did post this solution after I worked it out and if I have a problem I always search within this community first, you may have found my post

It certainly was very frustrating for me & the computer technician & he now has it all sorted after pulling his hair out. He said it doesn't happen to many laptops, however it happened to mine.

When I encountered this problem it was on a desktop on which everything had been working perfectly for years, who knows!!
