Importing data from USB stick, and always asking if new user when staring

Question

Whilst I fastidiously back up to a USB stick, the find files in D drive never finds it. What am I doing wrong?

Also, in the past Personal Plus would open fully when icon clicked.  Now it asks me each time if I'm a new user etc and asks for a backup.  How can I revert to opening where I last used the programme?

Never work from a USB, your data file must be in C: drive only, you may backup to a USB.
