Can a direct debit be setup with Colonial First State Super Clearing House for Reckon Users

Does anybody know if Reckon users can setup a direct debit to pay super contributions each pay.

My client rang Colonial First State and was told that employers using Reckon can't setup direct debit due to privacy laws.

I was told we cant do Direct Debit but we can setup a Direct Credit from our bank acc to Colonial First.

Privacy laws? That sounds like such an odd reason from Colonial. Did they give you any more details on this? I was considering direct debit as well

I believe this is due to signing up via Reckon, rather than registering directly/independently with Colonial. However, apparently a formal direct debit can always be set up with Colonial, using this form:

Can I just check, when you or your clients are logged into the CFS clearing house platform and access the Employer Maintenance screen then the Payment Details tab, is Direct Debit appearing as an option to select?

I just asked around about this internally after seeing this post and the good news is, I've been told Colonial will be making direct debit available as a payment method for Reckon customers hopefully this week or possibly next.

Once its live, you'll just need to give CFS a call to request it and get it setup and I'll keep you posted on any info I hear on it becoming available so you can do so.

Hi again everyone, just a quick update.

Direct debit is now available as a payment option for Reckon customers who have signed up to the Colonial First State clearing house.

You just need to grab a direct debit form from CFS which is available HERE, complete it and then return it via email to the CFS email address listed on the form. It will take approximately 3-4 business days to setup and CFS will send you confirmation once its active 🙂
