Migrating data from Reckon Accounts Premier to new Reckon Accounts Personal Plus

Hi All,

We have been referred to Reckon Community support by a Reckon Technical expert.

We want to migrate selected data from Reckon Accounts Premier V34. (licensed until July 2026) to Reckon Accounts Personal Plus 2025. (V31) This program has been purchased, received and installed and no entries made to the new software.

The Reckon Tech has advised, as the versions are a 'different Reckon family' that backup & restore is not an option. He further advised that Export/Import (of selected data) is probably the best way to achieve 'migration'. Our RA Premier V34 licence (1 of 2) has been used for personal account records since 2024 and data required for importing to Personal Plus will be limited to:

Chart of accounts, Transactions, Suppliers, Bills etc.

There are no employee, payroll, invoices or other business records on this licence.

I'm advised that someone may be able to give some 'step by step' instructions to support.

The info you have been given is correct, the Reckon Accounts Business desktop range of software operates on a vastly different database architecture than the Personal Range software (Personal Plsus and Home & Business).

This, along with a few other reasons, means you won't be able to directly open your .QBW company file in Personal Plus.

I can't say there are any step by step instructions on this process as its not something that is supported and may requires a fairly advanced level of data manipulation and even then, I believe some data won't come over between the two software. I haven't conducted this process myself so can't provide too much concrete advice on the topic, you may want to look at exporting list data from Reckon Accounts Premier to an IIF and then convert that to an acceptable QIF to import into Personal Plus.

i think this nearly impossible other than putting in closing balances from Premier And then carrying on with your normal data entry
