Editing a bill that has been paid

Question

I need to unlink it but I don't have  a highlighted Already Paid or a Blue Unlink, I will show you what I have further down, and have just been given a receipt that I need to add into the Visa Card statement payment.

Just so you understand it, my client has a Visa & Amex.  I pay some of her bills on the visa, and she uses both cards for shopping, so when I come to paying it out I enter her shopping outlays as "private outlays", as neither are use for business she is a private client.

Rav I think I was doing the wrong path.

* I should create just one bill for the Visa month and put all items (bills) paid into that bill.
*  Then when I pay it just pay that one whole bill, and I think it should be ok.
* So then I don't need a Bank account called NAB Visa at all, as this is not needed, does that sound right?Cheers Barb

Yes I think you are understanding it right what I am doing,  I might do a test run and then lock into my mind how to do this, I definitely feel I am double doing just the Bill transactions.

I will let you know how I go once I have time to do some runs.

I have a feeling you're probably on to something in regard to your point around how you're entering payments.

From what you’ve described, it sounds like there may be some double handling happening here, but I just want to confirm a couple of things before pointing you in the wrong direction.

At the moment, it looks like you’re:

• Entering bills as they come in

• Paying those bills using your Visa card (via Make Payment)

• Then when the Visa statement arrives, entering another transaction to capture those transactions, and also transferring funds from Savings to Visa

Would you say the above is right in terms of your workflow?

If so, the key thing to note is that once you’ve entered the bill and paid it using the Visa account, that transaction is already recorded. When the Visa statement arrives, you generally don’t need to re-enter those purchases again (if that's what's happening), you would only record the payment of the card itself (i.e. the transfer from Savings to Visa).
