“Invalid Company Information error” in Govconnect STP when submitting pay events from Reckon Accounts Business & Hosted

Why do I get a 'Invalid Company Information' error when lodging pay events in Reckon GovConnect STP from Reckon Accounts Business (desktop) and/or Reckon Accounts Hosted?

The Legal Name in your Reckon Accounts company file must match the company name in GovConnect STP with its CASE SENSITIVITY – the case sensitivity may be different to the appearance of your company name on the ABN lookup lookup tool https://abr.business.gov.au/

I had this problem last week, took spaces out of phone number and all fixed.  :-)
But today, same message coming up, and I havnt changed anything, all matches still!  :-(  On hold to Reckon now...

Didn't work!!! Checked ABN Lookup, changed name to all Caps.. Any other ideas? On hold for 40min now..

Boyd, also check branch number.

Also double check there are no blank fields after the name

okay there is some confusion about the legal name - I had a similar issue. 
what you need to do is go to the Govconnect portal and click on the Company and Advisor info.  At the top will be your company name.  Use this name in the same case (upper/lower) to be exactly the "legal name" under your company details section in Reckon Hosted.  
So you are not making sure it matches to the ATO or ABR or any other legal name...you're simply making sure it matches the name in the Reckon GovConnect portal.  It solved my issue.  Good Luck!

Thanks for comments, company name was identical.  I just got through to Reckon, I had to go to Payroll, Preferences, Files, Changed the branch number from 001 to 000  All worked then!  We'll see what happens in week 3 of payroll next week!!

Hi, I am having the same problem. I can't upload a file as I keep getting the message: Please check ABN/WPN, Company Name, Branch Number match those set in reckon GovConnect

I've checked the details in Reckon Hosted and they are correct. Any ideas.

Hi Rav,  no it isn't sorted yet. I was on the phone for 2.5hrs yesterday with Reckon & I just don't have time to be waiting so long for customer service.  Is someone able to dial in remotely and see what the problem is.

Hi, I am having the same issue have checked the name on reckon hosted on the govconnect portal and on the access manager on the ATO site, all in capitals.

I have noticed on the govconnect that the software id number is different to  my reckon hosted company info and the ato site but I don't know how to change anything other than my business name on the Govconnect tile?

From what I understand from one of your other posts, your business name exceeds the allowable number of characters correct?

In your case what you'll need to do is, firstly make sure the legal name in Reckon Accounts Premier matches the format in GovConnect STP EXACTLY ie. case sensitivity.

Once you have done that, then copy the name from Reckon Accounts Premier as it appears ie. as many characters that fit into that field and copy it.
Go into the Company & Advisers section in GovConnect STP and click the Edit symbol (the pencil icon) and paste the company name into there. The end result is, the company name MUST match across both.

Please check that the names across each match perfectly. The name in your Company Information in Reckon Accounts Hosted should match exactly as its displayed from GovConnect STP.
Also confirm the branch number.

In regard to the Software ID that you saw in Hosted, that one is for submitting BAS submissions to the ATO and is completely seperate to STP services.

Hi Rav,  Our name in the GovConnect Portal is the really long version, however I have clicked on the Company & Advisors section and edited it, copy and pasted the Legal name from our Reckon Company Details and it is now the shortened version, but the Company Name to the left of the "Add Products" and "Company & Advisers" has remained unchanged. It has stayed the long version.  Only the short version is in the Company & Adviser tab.  Do you think this could be the problem?
