Hi, We need to reset a password to access one of our company files. I can't see where this can be easily done, can you send through the procedure please?

Hi Rav, thanks. We can access our account which contains a few company files, we just need one of those company's creds reset, is this possible? Thanks, Trish0

Tricia. The procedure to change a company file password is under Company>Change Password.
If you do not know what the Admin password is for that specific company, you will need to follow the steps that Rav has outlined and pay to have the password reset. There are various levels of cost, depending on how quick you want Reckon to perform the task. I have had to go down this track once in the past. John L G0 -
Always best to have all passwords securely stored away somewhere safe.

Absolutely correct DebonAir. In the instance that I was involved with, there was a glitch when changing the password (user problem) which then locked up the file. John L G0

Ouch, expensive glitch!. Thanks for letting us know John. Might be a good idea to do backups before changing passwords in future, I will keep it in mind.

A useful article with things to consider before changing the password for the Admin user:
What is the recommended procedure when changing passwords?

DebonAir. I will own up to being dumb and stupid in this instance, doing something that I have never done before in all my years and will never ever do again. I got lazy. Instead of re-typing the confirming password, which was rather long, I copied it instead, not knowing that it gets encrypted into something else. I did have a prior backup from one or two days earlier, but because of work I had subsequently processed and other changes that had been made, it was less trouble to pay to get my error fixed. Expensive lesson. You can now laugh at my expense John L G1

Yes, we all tend to get a bit lazy when we have so much to do. All guilty of that!0
