Paying bill through Reckon?...

When paying a bill through Reckon with BPAY, will the money automatically come out of my Band account (Bankdata)
Or do I also need to go into my online banking and complete the transaction there?
(sorry if this is completely dumb question, I'd rather as a dumb question than make a dumb mistake)

thanks

    Hi Chris

    A perfectly reasonable question :)

No, you will need to either create & upload an ABA file into your online banking or manually enter the BPAY payment in there.

The bankdata feeds are just reporting payment transactions that have already gone though your bank account(s)

It sounds like you may be looking at a different area of your online banking, likely a Search/Display/Report option for existing transactions (which can be downloaded manually via a .csv file)

Australian Banking Association (or "ABA") files are a standard banking format used & accepted by all major Australian financial institutions however they don't usually refer to it as an "ABA" file.

When you go to make a payment in your online banking, you should see a few options for doing this.  The ABA file may be referred to as an "Upload" or an "Electronic" file or something similar.

In order to create ABA files from your program though, you need to "set up" your RA bank accounts for Online Banking first.
