On Friday this message popped up "It appears that your user name or passwords have been tampered with, you may have trouble logging in". it made us uneasy so we changed all our passwords. have had no issues logging in..
does anyone know why this would have happened?

Don't know what the warning is haven't seen that before but what does annoy me is that when you reset your password they send your new password in an email in clear unprotected, not encrypted text. So insecure that it is not funny. Have asked them to change this but to no avail. So your new password is very insecure anyway. Jeff0

Hi Retro,
There's a KB article on this particular message which contains a few causes and solutions -
Error: Your list of user names and passwords appears to have been tampered with, or has become damaged

Certainly understand where you're coming from on that Jeff.
We have some pretty major changes for Hosted planned to come later this year and one aspect of that is to address this process.0 -

I too have this issue. Just came up this morning. I have verified my data and it is OK, but when i try to backup the file, it fails.
I would like some assurance that my data is safe.
Rav, the link to the previous KB article does not apply to Hosted files.

I have this problem too. I had the message one day last week too. When I try to do a backup it comes up with a message Reckon Accounts was unable to backup company file.
Is anything being done to fix this problem?
