New to Reckon from Xero and looking for some tips.

Hi All,

I've just moved over to Accounts Hosted from Xero as we found we needed to add on so many extra apps to get what my business partner says is included in AH, I'm just working through the setup and want to know the best way to get the following up and running:

• Receipt importing for purchases
• Link to Bendigo Bank, I've setup Bank Feeds but when I choose Yodlee it just fails with an Unexpected Error after I choose the bank, does the same with AMEX
• Mobile app for viewing balances and payments received, (Xero has a basic app for this)
• Can I edit the DES files for templates in a desktop app? The templated editor in AH is a bit clunky.
• Setup credit card payments in the invoice with an external payment provider (Paypal)
• When I click the Setup Credit Card it opens a Word Doc and expired version of Word 2003, am I also right in reading that Reckon will add $0.30 to each card transaction even though it's processed externally?
• What is the "Services" button for on the main page? I tries to open a web site but fails.

Any other tips for a newbie would be greatly appreciated.

Yes , Cosmic , is now venturing into Offline invoicing only Android for now.
Just 1st have logged on where the net is available then the app is  ready to invoice once there is no net available or travelling  in flight mode.
this is available for testing right now , but not real work.

Thanks for all your replies, seems that I still need add-ons with Reckon.

@Kevin, We used receipt-bank that would automatically pull the invoice data and create a bill in Xero so there was very little data needed to be entered by the bookkeeper. I believe Chandra has a new product that will cover this now as well.
Also regarding the feed, it doesn't make it as far as the bank details, seems it a Yodlee issue.

Yes , Cosmicbills for RAH , IS READY for GL ENTRY for multiple line items and we can boast that we can scan 20 bills in say 5 to 7 mins.

I think bank feeds are overrated. No matter what system I'm using there's always timing issues. And I know what I'm doing. For the novice it's harder still. A lot of the other addons that xero boast about arent worth the extra coin. There are some rare exceptions

I've not had issues with the bank feeds in Xero in 6 years. Receipt bank has been a huge timesaver as well. Otherwise I agreed.

I've never had issues with bank feeds. It's just I question their aid to productivity.
